Welcome to my J-pop page. This page will have a little info on my favorite Japanese artists and some other cool pages about them. I first got into Japanese music in 1994, I believe, when I heard Pizzicato Five's song "Twiggy Twiggy vs. James Bond" on the radio. They were the only J-pop artist that I listened to for a long time until recently. I started to get into anime earlier this year, and I discovered more J-pop artists through links on various anime pages...

A few artists to check out...

Chappie(Sony)- style: Chappie covers almost every genre of popular music...

A very interesting group created by Groovevisions, a graphic design team...Their debut album, "New Chappie" is pretty good. For you P5 fans, Yasuharu Konishii worked on this project...

Do As Infinity(Avex)- style: pop-rock

If you like The Brilliant Green, you'll probably like them...Pick up their singles "Tangerine Dream," "Heart," "Oasis," and their new single "Yesterday and Today," which is the theme to the Japanese drama Love2000, I think...

Jenka(Sony)- style: "pop"

I think she's been around for a few years, but I've just discovered her...She's produced by Tore Johansson(former member of The Cardigans)...She has a new album out called "be.+" and a new single "Plastic Lies"...

Bonnie Pink(Pony Canyon)-style: pop-rock

Bonnie Pink's last few albums were also produced by Tore Johansson. If you like American female pop-rock(like Sarah McLachlan and Tori Amos), you might like her. Luckily, for us J-pop fans who aren't fluent in Japanese, many of her songs are in English. She has a new single out called "You are blue, so am I."
